2015 was a sellers’ market with transaction multiples increasing. According to Vancouver investors, “7x is the new 6x” in the lower mid-market. It was also a strong year for private equity in Canada with a total of 399 deals – worth $22.8B – completed according to the CVCA. Of these, 239 or 60% were in provinces served by First West Capital.
Sarah has over 10 years’ experience with subordinated debt financing, business valuations, corporate restructuring and third party assurance. Sarah specializes in delivering mid-market businesses with tailored subordinated debt, mezzanine and equity financing solutions for growth, acquisitions and transitions.
Sarah joined First West Capital as an associate and now holds the position of associate director. Previous to First West Capital, Sarah held the positions of Executive and Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in Vancouver and London, UK. Sarah also served as volunteer Treasurer for AnxietyBC, a non profit dedicated to bringing awareness about anxiety disorders.
A graduate of The University of Reading, with a BA (Hons) in Management and Business Administration, Sarah is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland, and is a Chartered Business Valuator.
